It’s important to position oneself, to expose the foundation of thoughts. I've created a series of monoprints that expose what cranks the wheels in my mind. At times I have a bleak demeanor when considering the past and current struggles. Other times, I’m hopeful that there is indeed sunshine at the seemingly unending tunnel. To escape this back and forth, I drift off into another world. I imagine realities that don’t exactly exist yet. Sometimes I live within those realities, so far removed from this one. Each of these aspects adds layers to the foundation on which my arguments sit.
This series was showcased in the 2018 Juneteenth exhibition in Logan Square, Chicago
